As if you didn’t know, Easter is coming up – and that means there are some changes to public transport timetables in store.
While the weather isn’t forecast to be as nice as the weekend we’ve just had, there will still be plenty of people out and about on buses, trams and trains in Nottingham and the wider county.
So here’s what you need to know about Easter weekend transport, from Good Friday, April 14 to Easter Monday, April 17.
Nottingham City Transport services will run as normal up to and including Thursday, April 13. Then:
- Good Friday – Saturday service except on Navy 49, which will run a normal weekday service
- Saturday April 15 – normal Saturday service
- Easter Sunday – normal Sunday service
- Easter Monday – Sunday service, including the 49X
- Tuesday 18 April – normal service
Concessionary passes and £5 Grouprider tickets will be available all day on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Nottingham Express Transit trams will operate to a Sunday timetable on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday, with services running from every 10 minutes.
A normal Saturday timetable will be in operation on April 15 with trams from every 7 minutes.
The network’s £5 group ticket offer is available throughout the Easter holidays, up to and including April 17. Usually only available at weekends and after 4pm on weekdays, the offer has been extended to include the school and Bank Holidays.
The ticket offers all day tram travel for one or two adults and up to three kids and can be purchased at tram stop ticket machines on the day of use for just £5.
For London services operated by East Midlands Trains, on Easter Sunday some trains will operate earlier than scheduled, others will operate later than scheduled, and some trains will not operate. You can see the details here; there are also details here of alterations to some early morning trains and late evening trains on Easter Monday.
For local services operated by East Midlands Trains, on Easter Monday the 19.52 from Liverpool Lime Street to Nottingham will not call at Langley Mill or Ilkeston. A rail replacement bus will operate, departing from Alfreton at 22.15, Langley Mill at 22.36, and Ilkeston at 22.57, arriving in Nottingham at 23.37.
There are also alterations to some other early morning and late evening trains between Liverpool and Nottingham, and details are here.
